What is AVANCE?
AVANCE® is the trademark for the Association for the Advancement of Latinos in Sports, a 501(c)(6) non-profit business organization dedicated to advancing professional and economic opportunities for Latinos in the sports industry.
What is AVANCE’s mission?
AVANCE’s mission is to advance professional and economic opportunities for Latinos in the sports industry. This is achieved through advocacy, research, education, networking, and mentorship opportunities.
Who are the leaders of AVANCE?
AVANCE was founded by Gary Acosta, the co-founder of NAHREP and L’ATTITUDE, two of the largest Latino business organizations in America. AVANCE’s strategic plan is guided by a world-class board of advisors that includes several leading sports industry leaders and executives.
Who can participate in the AVANCE network?
AVANCE network participation is open to anyone in the sports industry or those who aspire to be in the sports industry and support the organization’s mission to advance professional and economic opportunities for Latinos in the sports business. There are three types of participation: professional, student, and corporate partnership.
What are the benefits of network participation with AVANCE?
Depending on the type of network participation, individuals receive numerous benefits, including access to conferences, wealth-building networks, and exclusive networking opportunities. Additionally, participation supports AVANCE’s research and advocacy initiatives.
How can I join the AVANCE network?
You can express interest in joining the AVANCE network by visiting our website at avancesports.com and filling out the application form. Please note that admission to the network is not automatic, and our team will review your application to ensure it aligns with our mission and values.
What kind of advocacy work does AVANCE do?
AVANCE believes the sports economy benefits from having a significant Latino presence at all levels of the industry, including ownership, management, administration, media, coaching, and talent on the field and court.
What kind of events does AVANCE host?
AVANCE hosts networking events and conferences that provide participants with opportunities to make connections, learn directly from industry leaders, and share information.

AVANCE serves as an educational resource for the sports industry by providing data and information about the increasing impact of Latinos in sports.
What is the AVANCE Foundation?
The AVANCE Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides funding to youth and scholastic sports programs that serve Latinos and other underserved communities.
